Pottery from Slavery
Made in LA and ceramics are doing a unit on slavery and precedents established for BLM issues today and legal precedents for people of color.  A comprehensive timeline is in the works. 

Ceramics is focusing on Dave Drake, Slave Potter, 1802ish-1870ish.  Dave Drake's life spans the history of being born in country to Emancipation, Reconstruction.  The descendent of one of Drake's owners is in touch with us.
